One of our core values is “a commitment to our industry,” an easy one to fulfill when it comes to a full day playing golf in support of the ACE Mentor Program. On June 9th, KNA principal Ben Pitts and Project Engineer Jason Smith grabbed their golf bags and gloves and headed to Sierra Lakes Golf Club to compete with fellow engineers, architects and contractors.
It’s More Than Just a Game
This was the third year for the tournament and was hosted by the Sierra Lakes Golf Club in Fontanta. The ACE Mentor Program supports high school students and encourages them to pursue careers in engineering, architecture and construction (ACE). Currently it’s now the construction industry’s fast-growing high school mentoring program, reaching over 8,000 students annually. Since its inception, ACE has awarded over $14 million in scholarships to promising participants.
As Ben noted, “It was an enjoyable day playing golf and supporting a good cause, and we played well. We finished only two strokes over par!.”
